Sarah Spitz

Sarah Spitz is a partner at Rayman Harris LLP whose practice focuses on commercial litigation and municipal law.

In her municipal law practice, she has represented commercial tenants, residential tenants, homeowners, corporate landowners and large developers in expropriation claims across Ontario. Sarah also provides advice and assistance to expropriating authorities. She has represented ratepayers and residents’ associations in planning matters before the Ontario Land Tribunal.

In her commercial litigation practice, Sarah focuses on disputes involving real property, corporate governance and shareholder matters, fraud, and professional liability. She has experience representing clients bringing and responding to complex Anton Piller and Mareva injunctions.

Sarah has appeared before all levels of Court in Ontario and various tribunals including the Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal). She is committed to providing exceptional legal services for her clients while focusing on the practical and business implications of dispute resolution.

Sarah joined the firm in 2018 after articling at Lenczner Slaght LLP in Toronto. She completed her J.D. at Queen’s University in 2017, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honours List and earned course prizes in Health Law and Trial Advocacy. Sarah also worked as a research assistance with several prominent academics throughout her law school career and was a senior editor on the Queen’s Law Journal.

Sarah is always open to mentoring law students and young lawyers. She regularly participates in the Queen’s Law shadow day program and was a member of the Queen’s Law Career Development Office team while in law school. 

In her spare time, she can usually be found in a conservation area or provincial park, hiking with her dog and her partner.
